What is the point, the action the need for the hero or heroin to achieve. It has good well drawn characters who have definite points of view, habits and other distinguishing characteristics. A journal may be a good basis for a book but you're going to have to build a cohesive story around it. I think stories for that age group would be very commercial but please understand what a story is all about before you get started. (Talk with your English Teacher.)
