Why do musical theatre singers have so much power in their voice?

Are they able to sing very high in their chest voice?

They sing from the diaphragm. One trick to develop this is to take a volleyball, press it into your belly, and breathe out quickly. another trick is to blow up a small balloon 10 times right before you go on stage.

Most people in musical theatre have been singing and acting their whole life…they have so much power because they have learned how to breathe properly depending on what notes they are singing. It takes a long time to be able to actually correctly breathe. Most likely also that was their passion their whole life so it just comes naturally. Yes the can sing high in their chest voice but its easier to sing high when you sing head voice…….

They also sing PROPERLY through their diaphrams. when i first learned about singing through mine I did some vocal damage. That’s what vocal teachers are for.

they don’t sing using their chest, they use their diaphragm. its a muscle in your stumach. it helps a lot when you have a big stage.
